Ancient charm and uniqueness Historical notes Imagine immersing yourself in the history of ancient Rome, at the dawn of Western Christian civilization, in an era of emperors and prophets. Think of returning to a house full of history and stories, located in an ancient city of considerable importance, Ferentino, at the foot of a pleasant hill where you can breathe healthy air and find inner calm in the complex of the vast former Roman Empire. A rare and important residence, inhabited by Valeria Procula, daughter of Emperor Julius Caesar Octavian Augustus, wife of Tiberius and, later, of Pontius Pilate; with the latter Valeria lived an intense but tormented love story because the bride, moved by the great desire to live her love fully, although the law forbade her despite the high lineage, reached the Roman procurator and husband Pontius Pilate who served the Roman Empire in a distant land but destined to a prophetic history: Judea. However, the same adored husband decreed the death sentence of Jesus Christ and Valeria, resentful of the abominable and unjust act, then became an illustrious witness of one of the first conversions to Christianity, embracing with faith the new religion and dedicating her new unconditional love to it. The elegant and historic building made of exposed stone is located in the southern part of Via Consolare – ancient Cardo Massimo, a road layout that acquired relief in Roman and medieval times. Its structure, which dates back to 1400, has however maintained traces of the typical architecture of the imperial age, as evidenced by the presence, in its vicinity, of the Baths of Flavia Domitilla and the Roman Theater, both built at the beginning of the second century AD and indicating the culture of the people ferentinate in that era. The building also favored rapid access to the Forum, formerly adjacent to the area and, thanks to its strategic position to the south, was particularly suitable for urban functions of access and outflow of spectators, whether they were citizens or people from nearby cities. From the Middle Ages, after the rebuilding in the thirteenth century, the three ogival arched openings, the mullioned windows and the round arches, as well as numerous and valuable documentary remains, make the palace one of the most elegant houses in the city of Ferentino, as well as in the entire area. The building has a total area of 778 m², is equipped with six independent entrances that would allow, possibly, the division of the structure into three large apartments (already prepared for subdivision). Description General Historic building finely finished, very bright, quiet, comfortable and extremely hospitable. Located a stone's throw from the historic center of Ferentino within the cyclopean walls, close to all services (schools, municipality, food, bars, pastry shops, tobacconists, churches, bus stops for Rome and train station which is 3.5 km from home, also reachable by shuttle) House for lovers of art and quiet, ideal for people looking for peace and concentration but also perfect for hosting friends and sharing the large spaces that the house offers. The building was and still is inhabited by well-known personalities, guaranteeing good income. Excellent as an investment or income. The building can be purchased as an entire housing solution or, alternatively, has already been prepared for the division of three large apartments characterized by unique styles. GROUND FLOOR: Exposure SUD_OVEST The ground floor apartment, to be restored, has three different entrances (Vicolo porta s.Agata, Vicolo dell'Archetto, vicolo Tiziano (Santa Lucia - garden entrance), has a total size of about 160 m²; it is characterized by terracotta vaults and wooden ceilings, it is embellished with a beautiful garden of 162 m² planted with trees that allow an excellent microclimate and is equipped with a large basement of 32 m². Suggestive is the Cave of 24 m², adjacent to the garden, of the Augustan period, presumably belonging to the Ferentinate thermal complex. Finally, on the same floor there is a boiler room and a spacious cellar. MEZZANINE FLOOR South West and North Exposure The apartment on the mezzanine floor has four different entrances, three of which are located in via Consolare and one in vicolo di porta Sant'Agata. The entrance to the alley is a delightful courtyard with mullioned window that leads to a finely restored apartment of 276 m² which is accessed through an elegant frescoed entrance and equipped with a fireplace and in which there are a double living room a modern and bright separate kitchen, a small bathroom and a splendid and considerable terrace of 78 m², accessible both from the double living room and from the kitchen. A refined wooden staircase leads to the upper floor.
